Review:

Son of Lloyd and brother of Beau, Jeff Bridges has maintained a maverick-like career at the top of the Hollywood food chain for over four decades now. With a somewhat quirky approach to choosing his roles he spent the first twenty years rarely pushing out of his comfort zone, yet still starring in a variety of different films. Initially making his name as a classic leading man in lightweight comedies and thrillers, he surprised everyone with his iconic turn as “The Dude” in 1998’s The Big Lebowski forging a character as uniquely funny as he was lovable. Although, that performance garnered him a cult following from a new generation of movie fans, it wasn’t until 2009’s Crazy Heart that his talent became properly appreciated by more mainstream audiences. Though that performance won him the Academy Award for Best Actor, it was his immensely charismatic version of Rooster Cogburn in the Coen Brother’s True Grit the following year that cemented his reputation as one of cinema’s more weighty talents.
